Q: What are your hours?

A: We are open to the public 10 AM - 5 PM, Tuesday-Saturday. Sunday 10 AM - 12 PM for My Day to Play, open to the public

12 PM - 5 PM

 

Q: What are your rates?

A: $14 per person for everyone over 23 months of age. Babies under 23 months are free. Seniors (65+), teachers and military are $10.

 

Q: What age is the museum for?

A: Currently, a majority of our exhibits are aimed at children aged 1-12 years old. We do have some exhibits that all ages can enjoy, including the Reptile Lounge, The Warming Sea, and The Engineering Cycle. 

 

Q: How do I become a member?

A: We have several different options for MDM membership. Visitors can become members by purchasing in person, online, or over the phone. Explore all of our membership options here.

 

Q: What benefits are included in the membership?

A: Along with free entry to the museum any time during our open hours, members also receive the benefit of a 15% discount on gift shop items, camps, party rentals, special events and more. Members also receive other benefits such as early access to event registrations. Explore all of our membership benefits here.

 

Q: Do you do birthday party rentals?

A: Yes we do! Our party rentals include 2 hours of exclusive access to all 3 floors of the museum, up to 40 guests, an optional activity (such as a live animal presentation) and allowance to bring in any food and decorations of your choice. Explore more details and rates here.

 

Q: Do you offer anything special for children who are disabled or on the autism spectrum?

A: Yes! On select Sundays from 1-4 PM we have My Day to Play, a grant-funded program for children that are disabled, autistic, or have other sensory needs. More details about MDTP are available here.

 

Q: Do you offer any activities or programming?

A: We offer a variety of different activities, programs, camps, and extra events, both free and priced. Explore our programming here.

 

Q: Is there food available in the museum?

A: We have snacks and bottled water available at the front desk. We currently do not have a cafe, but visitors are welcome to bring in their own food and drinks and enjoy them in the Snack Room on the second floor. 

 

Q: Is the museum wheelchair or handicap accessible?

A: Yes, we have an elevator that goes to all 3 floors and there are no sections that are only stair-accessible. All restrooms are also handicap accessible. We are happy to help accommodate visitors as much as possible. 

 

Q: Will new exhibits be coming soon?

A: We strive to bring new, modern and exciting exhibits to our visitors as often as possible. Rotating exhibits is a normal part of all museum structures. If you would like to stay informed about all of our new exhibits, exhibit updates, and exhibits in progress, join our newsletter here or explore the exhibits page. 

 

Q: Is there a way to keep up with the museum’s current events and programs?

A: Yes! Our website is a great resource for current information, as well as our Facebook page. Visitors can also subscribe to our newsletter and receive emails about MDM’s programs, events, and more.

Visitors are welcome to take photos or videos for personal use. Commercial photography requires written permission from our Marketing or Rentals Teams. We reserve the right to photograph or video record Members and guests on Museum grounds for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please speak to someone from Visitor Experience.
