NASA’s International Observe the Moon Night
NASA’s International Observe the Moon Night is a time to come together with fellow Moon enthusiasts and curious people around the world. The Maine Discovery Museum is one of the participating organizations across our beautiful Earth that will be observing, learning about, and celebrating lunar science and exploration.
Join us at the Bangor waterfront to take part in this free event featuring celestial observations and opportunities to honor cultural and personal connections to the Moon. This completely free event will include family-friendly activities, telescopes to view the Moon in all her glory, giveaways, and community. We encourage the Greater Bangor community to interpret “observe” broadly!

Nostalgia Night
A night for 18+ to rediscover play!
Revisit your favorite MDM exhibits or discover MDM for the first time. Bring friends who grew up here, introduce new ones to the magic, or even bring your grown kids for a nostalgic twist on your childhood visits. Recreate classic museum photos, enjoy an adult beverage (21 ID required), indulge in science & art, and dive into hands-on fun.
This one-of-a-kind fundraiser for the Maine Discovery Museum is your chance to play, laugh, and feel like a kid again, and helps us as we inspire Maine’s next generation.
