Middles at the Museum

Friday nights just got way more fun! Join us for Middles at the Museum - an exclusive after-hours hangout for middle schoolers (grades 5–8). Parents, drop off your tweens and early teens to explore, connect, and discover in a safe, welcoming environment designed just for them. Enjoy a variety of offerings including guest speakers, STEM experiments, creative art projects, themed nights, games, and more, plus concessions available for purchase. Don’t miss out—fun, friends, and discovery await!

Tickets are $10 / FREE for members.

Celebrate curiosity, community, and a sparkling start to the New Year - Maine Discovery Museum style! This one-of-a-kind family fundraiser supports MDM’s exhibits and programs.
 

Your ticket includes:
·        Portland Pie Co. pizza, drinks, and snacks
·        Hands-on activities
·        World Map Dance Party
·        Bubble Countdown at “Midnight” (6 PM—don’t tell the kids!)

Help MDM celebrate our birthday with a fun evening for adults!
Join us for a night of fun to raise money for MDM and learn some science (of cocktails) too! Raffle baskets, scavenger hunt, dancing, silent disco, food, and a different specialty cocktail on each floor, featuring a Maine spirit. You won't want to miss the biggest party in February!

Maine Science Festival

Science is everywhere. Especially in Bangor, Maine, in March, for FREE, at the Maine Science Festival. Join us March 25-29, 2026, and celebrate Maine science and the people who do it!


Science surrounds us every day, from the phones in our pockets to innovations in wood products, space exploration, aquaculture, and climate research. At the MSF, we celebrate the vital role science plays in our lives and showcase the world-class work of Maine’s scientists, researchers, and engineers. Science is everywhere—come discover it with us!
