In an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Maine Discovery Museum is closed and we are following the State of Maine and City of Bangor's regulations and guidance on when it will be safe to open again.
While you visit MDM please take advantage of our facilities – and experience all downtown Bangor has to offer!
When you arrive please check in at the front desk, then head to our coat closet to hang your coats and hats before you explore all the museum has to offer. Any items you leave in the coat room are there at your risk, so please don’t leave valuables in the coat area.
Each level of MDM is fully handicap accessible via elevators in the back left corner of the museum.
Food and drink are not permitted in the exhibit areas, but we welcome lunches in our snack room on the second floor. Feel free to bring your lunch and spend the whole day! Or explore the fabulous lunch spots in downtown Bangor and return to the museum as you wish – your pass allows you to come and go all day.
Restrooms are located on the first and second floors of the museum.
While you’re in the area, please visit some of the charming shops and restaurants our fine city has to offer. Your admission allows you to come in and out of the Museum all day, giving you the freedom to arrive in the morning, play, learn, discover, go out for an hour of lunch and window shopping, then come back to the Museum in the afternoon for another serving of play, learning, and discovery.
