  • Make Your Own Bird Feeder presented by Maine Audubon

    January 19, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Bird feeders, especially in winter, can provide essential nourishment to sustain otherwise declining bird populations. Most people who feed birds are simply enjoying the aesthetic and entertainment appeal of birds as they forage outside their windows. But did you know that bird-watching is proven to reduce stress levels, lower blood pressure, and increase brain activity?

This family-friendly workshop will introduce you to the dos & don’ts of backyard bird feeding. Learn how different foods and feeder types can attract different species of birds to your yard. Using a variety of recycled materials you’ll create a bird feeder to take home.

Workshop leader: David Lamon is a staff member at Maine Audubon and manages the Fields Pond Audubon Center in Holden.

All ages and free with admission!
