Monday: April 20: Monsters and Myths Alive

Explore the science and imagination of the world’s most favorite myth and monster stories! Use science and art as you get to the bottom of unicorn, fairie, werewolf, and deep-sea monster lore. Make masks and creatures, and even invent your own monster with real science and your imagination.

Tuesday, April 21: It’s a Bug’s World!

From the tiniest mite to the most dazzling butterflies, this camp day is all about the critters that buzz, fly and chirp. Meet some of the world’s most amazing creatures, learn about their parts and lives and even sample some buggy treats. Build a giant ant colony model, find out how pretty butterfly wings get their colors and use them in fancy art and jewelry. At the end of the day take home your own little bug friend as a pet.

Wednesday, April 22: Crazy for Cardboard!

Think outside the box! Bend fold, twist, stack, upcycle cardboard containers and scraps of all shapes and sizes into your best inventions and contraptions: from wearables to arcade-style games, pretend space ships, get creative with cardboard to see YOUR ideas take shape.

Thursday, April 23: Extreme Planet

Head for the hills: volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and floods, weather and climate and even humans shake up our planet and reshape the landscape. Explore the science of water, fire, air, and experiment with building the structures that can stand up to our planet’s most powerful forces. Make a tornado in a bottle, tasty Jello quicksand, engineer a mini earthquake and more during a whole day of earth-shaking fun!

Friday, April 24: Pirates, Ho!

Live a day like a pirate!  Discover the world of buccaneers sailing the South Seas.  Learn how to mend a sail, read a treasure map, use a compass and keep your galleon ship-shape.  You and your mates will go on a treasure hunt, “mint” your own gold, design your own pirate flag and even get your own pirate name.  We’ll celebrate the end of our day “at Sea” with a proper pirate feast!

Please fill out a medical and permission form for each child attending camp.
