Bring your class to MDM!

Plan Your Visit Donate

Our major exhibit areas continue to provide many ways for you to reinforce your curriculum with context-rich, hands-on activities.

Consider adding on a Museum Adventure for a personalized, unique visit. We design these interdisciplinary programs to meet Common Core and NSSE standards, appeal to different learning styles, and engage everyone as an active participant. We’ll add extra time to your field trip to enjoy your Adventure!

Plan Your Field Trip to MDM!

  • Minimum of 10 children to receive the group rate.
  • Group admission charge: $5.00/child. Teachers & chaperones pay no admission fees. (Regular admission: $7.50/per adult & child)
  • 1 chaperone required for every 5 children.

Choose from two field trip options:

1. Basic Discovery Tour (2 hours)
Museum staff meet your bus at the group entrance and give your students an orientation to the museum. The remainder of your visit is a self-guided exploration of all three floors and seven exhibit areas.

2. Museum Adventure Tour
Museum staff meet your bus at the group entrance and give your students an orientation to the museum. Museum educators will present your pre-selected Museum Adventure(s), and the remainder of your visit is free time in the Museum. If you are doing an Adventure program and/or having lunch in our snack room, we can extend your visit.

An additional fee is added to the group admission charge for each Museum Adventure. Download our Add-on Adventures for Field Trips for more information.

*Snack Room: If you are having lunch in our snack room, we automatically add 1/2 hour to your visit. Please note that requests to use our snack room for “brown bag” lunches must be made when you book your field trip. The Snack Room is available on a “first-booked, first-served basis.” The Snack Room has beverage and snack food vending machines.

We look forward to helping you plan a successful and rewarding school year! Contact us or call the Museum to book your field trip today at (207) 262-7200.
